“We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to OJ Dashcam & CCTV Melbourne.
“You”, “Customer” refers to the individual or entity purchasing services or products from us.
“Services” means dash cam supply, mobile installation, hardwiring, battery pack installation, CCTV installation, and related automotive electrical services.
“Products” refers to dash cameras, CCTV equipment, accessories, battery packs, wiring kits, and other equipment supplied by us.
2. General
By booking a service, purchasing a product, or allowing installation work to proceed, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all services provided unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Quotes & Pricing
All quotes are provided based on standard passenger vehicles unless stated otherwise.
Additional charges may apply for vehicles such as utes, vans, European vehicles, luxury vehicles, or vehicles requiring complex trim removal or custom wiring.
Prices may change if unforeseen complications arise during installation. We will inform you before proceeding with any additional work.
4. Bookings & Cancellations
Bookings are confirmed once agreed in writing or verbally.
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 12 hours prior to the appointment.
5. Mobile Installation & Access
The vehicle must be in safe working condition and able to start.
We are not responsible if the vehicle battery becomes flat due to an aged or weak battery during installation.
We reserve the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe.
6. Installation Disclaimer
Installations involve removal of interior trims, panels, and fittings. Minor marks, clip loosening, or normal wear may occur, especially on older vehicles.
We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, brittle plastics, or previously modified wiring.
We do not guarantee compatibility with aftermarket accessories installed by third parties.
7. Customer-Supplied Dash Cams
We offer installation services for customer-supplied dash cams.
We are not responsible for faults, defects, missing parts, firmware issues, or manufacturer defects of customer-supplied equipment.
Installation fees apply regardless of device performance after installation.
8. Electrical & Vehicle Systems
Modern vehicles contain sensitive electronics, airbags, and safety systems. While every reasonable care is taken, we are not liable for faults arising from pre-existing conditions or manufacturer design limitations.
We do not modify airbags or safety systems under any circumstances.
9. Parking Mode & Battery Disclaimer
Parking mode installations may draw power from the vehicle battery or a dedicated battery pack.
We are not responsible for battery drain caused by:
Aged or weak vehicle batteries
Incorrect vehicle usage patterns
Manufacturer software updates or system changes
10. Warranty
Installation Workmanship Warranty: We provide a 1-year workmanship warranty covering installation-related faults only.
If you believe there is an issue related to our installation, you must first contact us and allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and rectify the issue under our workmanship warranty.
If the vehicle is taken to another workshop or dealership without first giving us this opportunity, we may not be responsible for any diagnostic fees, labour charges, repair costs, towing costs, or other expenses incurred.
If an issue occurs within the 1-year period but is determined to be:
A vehicle-related issue, including battery, wiring, or vehicle system faults
A fault with a customer-supplied dash cam
A product fault not related to installation
External damage, misuse, accidental damage, water damage, or third-party interference
then a call-out fee and/or diagnostic fee may apply, even if within the workmanship warranty period.
SD Cards: Any SD card supplied or provided as part of a package or promotion is provided without warranty.
SD cards are considered consumable items and are not covered under installation or product warranty.
Product warranties are handled in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty terms and do not cover installation labour unless required by Australian Consumer Law.
Warranty does not apply where issues are caused by misuse, unauthorised modifications, firmware changes by the customer, or external factors beyond our control.
11. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed.
We accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments.
Card payments incur a 1.5% surcharge to cover payment processing fees.
Ownership of supplied products remains with us until full payment is received.
Unpaid invoices may be subject to recovery action, and any reasonable recovery costs may be passed on to the customer where permitted by law.
12. Liability Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the service.
13. Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Where applicable, statutory warranties apply.
14. Privacy
Customer information is used solely for service delivery, communication, warranty administration, and record-keeping. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties unless required by law.
15. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will be published on our website.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
